FEBRUARY 2010


arm balance & inversion workshop sun 28 feb @1-3pm $35

Crow, elephant, scorpion, oh my!  arm balances and inversions can be really tricky for most students.  in this class we will work on different techniques and modifications to achieve some of these challenging postures.  we will start with a vinyasa designed to fire up the arms and open the shoulders.  followed by the breaking down and exploring of particular arm balances and inversions.  a strong practice is recommended, but not necessary.

 

MARCH 2010


holding your power

Define, strengthen and fall in love with your power and the power of your practice.
This TWO hour workshop is designed to really enhance your already growing knowledge of some of the major asanas (postures) within your practice.  To really understand and move forward in your practice we sometimes just need to be still with the asanas, the mind and the body, therefore building a fire within that will take you further into yourself and your yoga practice.

This workshop is so very beneficial because for those of you discovering that yoga is so much more than a workout, it will take you to the next level of increased awareness within and around yourself.  You will feel and build strength, agility and courage, bringing these qualities into every aspect of you and your yoga practice.

What to expect………………AN INTENSE, KICK-BUTT, FUN, SWEATY WORKSHOP…..(experience of yoga and a strong fitness level & a good sense of humour needed)

Meditation Basics workshop

Sun 14 March @130-330p

Designed especially for beginners and those curious about meditation, this workshop will include several different approaches to meditation, as well as gentle stretching to prepare the body for sitting, and guided relaxation. There will also be a brief discussion of the physical, mental and emotional benefits of meditation. Dress in comfortable clothes that permit easy movement. Advance registration required.

Chakra Balancing Workshop

Saturday 17 April  @2-4p

This workshop is a great opportunity to learn more about yogic philosophy while experiencing a challenging, energizing, cleansing yoga practice. It's a wonderful way to help your body, mind, and spirit through the transition into spring -- letting go of what you no longer need, and welcoming in new energy. I hope you will join me.

In yogic philosophy, chakras are the body’s energy centers. Prolonged stress, muscle tightness, and emotional challenges take their toll on the chakras, often resulting in fatigue, depression, and other difficulties. This workshop will be comprised of  a series of invigorating yoga postures, relaxing breathing techniques and guided meditations designed to balance the chakras. There will also be a brief discussion of how each chakra influences our physical, mental and emotional selves. The Chakra Yoga Workshop is not recommended for first-time yoga students (1 year or less of practice), people with recent injuries, or pregnant women. At least 6 months of yoga experience is recommended.

yoga workshop for Golfers

Come learn the mind and body approach to golf.  Our class will cover breathing awareness in yoga and golf swings, core-strengthening, golf anatomy and bio-mechanics, relaxation and visualization to improve putting and poses to use in the locker room and on the course.

Head, Neck, Shoulders & Wrists (oh my!:) workshop

Sat 22 May - 2-330p

$30 per person - Emma

too many stresses sitting on those cold shoulders? tension, knots, injuries, round shoulders? carpal tunnel, t.m.j, headaches/migranes?    come release and relieve yourselves from tightness and pain.  spend an hour and a half focussing solely on your spine, head, neck, shoulders and wrists.  using simple stretches and asanas (postures) come chill with emma in a workshop dedicated to taking 'the world off of your shoulders'.  mini massages will be included:)
